Fans of the BBC comedy series Ghosts are being given the chance to spend a night in the fictional Button House, where the show is set. West Horsley Place, Surrey, where the programme is set, is hosting the sleepover to celebrate the launch of the new feature film, Ghosts: The Possession of Button House.
The event, which costs £135 per head, includes after-dark film tours, ghost-themed cocktails, a silent disco, and guests can view episodes at the manor house's library. Guests will sleep in the Stone Hall, the medieval Great Hall, where Henry VIII once feasted. It is also the setting as the main lounge in Button House.
The sleepovers are adults-only and attendees must bring sleeping bags and mats. Activities will take place across selected dates in August, September, October, and February. The event aims to raise funds for the preservation of West Horsley Place, a historic estate dating back to 1425.
West Horsley Place was privately owned and occupied by Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe, until her death in 2014. The estate was left to her great-nephew Bamber Gascoigne, the TV presenter and University Challenge quizmaster, who set up the West Horsley Place Trust to preserve the historic house and opened it to the public.
The BBC comedy series Ghosts aired on BBC One from 2019 to 2023, running for five series and 34 episodes. Its last episode drew 7.2 million viewers and it was the UK's most-watched comedy series of 2023.
