Gilla Band has released a new single, 'Alogia', which delves into the topic of "poverty of speech linked to mental health conditions" and schizophrenia. Frontman Dara Kiely stated he received a schizophrenia diagnosis while writing the lyrics for the track.

The song is described as a "jittering" track with Kiely's "tortured vocals," depicting a narrator's descent from fantasising about a life with "steady structure, routine and purpose" into a breakdown.

The band is set to release their album 'Pugnello' on September 25 through Rough Trade Records. They previously released 'Giraffe' and 'Placeholder' as precursors to the album.

Gilla Band will embark on a tour in October, starting in North America on October 14 in Philadelphia. They will then tour Europe in January 2027, with their first UK show scheduled for February 10 in Bristol, followed by dates in London, Manchester, and Glasgow.
