A 13-year-old girl has died after going missing in a river near the village of Burnsall in the Yorkshire Dales, police have confirmed.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, with emergency services and police called to the scene at around 2pm.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl had been swimming with friends near the river when she went missing.
A search operation was launched, involving police, firefighters, and coastguard teams, but sadly the girl's body was recovered from the river at around 6pm.
