Firefighters have spent a second night at the scene of a significant fire at a scrapyard in Glasgow. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) stated that the alarm was raised at the business on South Street, in the Scotstoun area, at about 23:23 on Friday.
At its peak, the fire involved explosive bangs, as captured in footage by a local resident. Nine fire engines, two high-reach vehicles, and specialist resources were deployed to the incident. No casualties have been reported.
Crews remained in attendance overnight into Sunday, with four fire engines and two high-reach appliances. A high volume water pump is being used to draw water from the River Clyde.
