Glyndŵr’s Way, the 135-mile (217km) national trail across mid-Wales, is known for its remote character. The trail officially starts in the border town of Knighton.
Walkers on Glyndŵr’s Way may find a scarcity of facilities. For example, a pub in Llangunllo was noted to be closed during evenings and weekends, and only open for drinking. This limited availability of amenities has led some to consider it the most remote of all 17 English and Welsh national trails.
Accommodation options can also be located off the main route. The Castle Inn at Knucklas is a mile off the trail, and two miles from Knighton. Other options like Brandy House farm and Wales in the Woods offer various types of accommodation along the route.
