Google Cloud and Accenture have announced a new joint unit, the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, focused on deploying engineers directly into businesses. The unit's purpose is to assist enterprises in integrating Google's AI tools and services more effectively.
As part of this collaboration, Google plans to train up to 1,000 of Accenture's forward-deployed engineers (FDEs). These trained engineers will work with enterprises to develop custom AI applications using the Gemini Enterprise platform.
This move comes as Google Cloud aims to resolve enterprise deployment bottlenecks and compete with rivals in the AI sector. According to August data from Ramp, Google accounts for approximately 6% of enterprise AI spending among U.S. businesses.
Earlier this year, Google Cloud also launched a $750 million partner ecosystem commitment, embedding its own FDEs across various consultancies. Accenture has also expanded its FDE programs this year, including initiatives with Microsoft, ServiceNow, and SAP.
