Google launches AI image tool, Google Pics, for Workspace customers

Google has introduced Google Pics, an AI-powered image creation and editing tool, into its Google Workspace suite for business customers and premium Google AI subscribers.

  • Google Pics is an AI-first image creation and editing tool.
  • It will be integrated into Google Workspace, starting with Docs and Slides today.
  • The tool is powered by Google’s Nano Banana image generation model.

Google has entered the creative design market with Google Pics, a new image creation and editing tool. The product will become part of Google Workspace for business customers and premium Google AI subscribers.

Powered by Google’s Nano Banana image generation model, Google Pics is designed for everyday design tasks, such as creating posters or social media posts. It allows users to create visuals and illustrations by prompting, rather than designing from scratch.

The software includes editing features to isolate and transform objects, and modify or translate text within images. It also supports collaborative editing and the generation of multiple image versions. Google Pics rolls out today, initially integrated into Google Docs and Slides, and is planned to come to Google Drive later.

What this means for you: If you are a Google Workspace customer or a premium Google AI subscriber, you will gain access to Google Pics for image creation and editing.
