A 68-year-old grandfather from Thamesmead, south-east London, has graduated with a first-class Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Chris Osagbaekhoe received his degree at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster, four years after commencing his studies. He had previously studied psychology and counselling between 2013 and 2015.
Mr Osagbaekhoe, who has four children and 12 grandchildren, stated that part of his inspiration was to empower people and be a "voice to the voiceless." He hopes his graduation will inspire other mature students and people with disabilities to pursue their passions.
He plans to seek his first job as a qualified social worker. Additionally, Mr Osagbaekhoe intends to launch a community-based project or centre to help young people and use his musical talents to inspire the next generation.
