Great Britain commenced their pre-qualifying campaign for the 2029 EuroBasket tournament with a 110-75 win over Switzerland in Fribourg. The victory places GB at the top of Group E.
Boston Celtics centre Amari Williams and Barcelona forward Tosan Evbuomwan both made their senior debuts for Great Britain. Evbuomwan, who previously made 50 NBA appearances, contributed 21 points in 25 minutes, while Williams posted eight points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes. Josh Uduje was the top scorer for Great Britain with 24 points.
Marc Steutel's side maintained control throughout the match, winning all four quarters. Great Britain, ranked 45th in the world, led 79-51 by the end of the third quarter against their opponents, who are ranked 16 places lower.
Great Britain's next match is against Slovakia in Newcastle on Sunday. Their remaining fixtures include a home game against Switzerland on November 29 and an away match against Slovakia on February 25, 2027.
