Green Day's drummer, Tré Cool, has told NME that the punk band would be willing to headline Glastonbury Festival if approached. He described Glastonbury as "the last great festival that we haven't done."
Cool's comments were made ahead of the release of 'Nimrods', a new fictional comedy film inspired by Green Day's early touring years, which premiered in UK cinemas on August 11. The band appears as themselves in the film and also served as producers.
While Green Day has headlined major festivals globally, including Coachella, Reading & Leeds, and Lollapalooza, they have not yet played Glastonbury. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong attended the festival in 2019 to see his son's band, SWMRS, perform.
Glastonbury Festival had a fallow year in 2026 and is set to return next summer between Wednesday, June 23, and Sunday, June 27. Organisers have not yet announced any names for next year's line-up.
