LA-born singer Gretchen Parlato has released her new album, 'The Wise Ones', marking her third album since returning to music in 2021 after a six-year break for parenting. The album features collaborations with long-term partners and guest artists.
Among the collaborators are folk-rockish and jazz-influenced multi-instrumentalist Alan Hampton, Parlato’s percussionist husband Mark Guiliana, Robert Glasper, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Becca Stevens.
The album includes Parlato's track 'Never Come Down', described as a "snappy groover", and her interpretations of Stevie Wonder's 'If It’s Magic' and Tears for Fears’ 'Mad World'. Other tracks include 'Rainbow' with Robert Glasper and the title track, guided by singer/producer Amber Navran.
