Brooklyn-based six-piece band Grumpy has released their new album, 'Unfindable Ring'. The album, described as their proper full-band debut, blends electronica, alt-rock, and folk, reflecting the band's experimental approach to genre.

Led by songwriter Heaven Schmitt, the album's lyrics frequently explore themes of trans love and the acceptance of change and fluidity. Schmitt, along with most other band members, identifies as trans, and they believe that the trans experience encourages creativity and boundary-pushing in music and art.

One standout track, 'Twenty Five', features Schmitt imagining time travel and reflects on a conversation with bassist Ellie Long about transitioning at a younger age. The song is described as a "sweet ode to trans love."

The band recorded 'Unfindable Ring' at drummer Austin Arnold's studio in Brooklyn, with all six members contributing to the writing and production. Schmitt noted that the album represents his long-held vision for Grumpy as a collaborative band where everyone is vital.

Beyond Grumpy, Schmitt has also been active as a backing vocalist for country-pop artist Zach Bryan, singing on Bryan's latest album 'With Heaven On Top' and touring stadiums as part of his live band.
