Guests who were forced to leave the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone due to a fire on 19 September are still waiting to retrieve their possessions and vehicles, more than 10 days later.

Kent Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious. Hotel operator Britannia Hotels previously stated the site remains inaccessible because it is an active crime scene.

Maria Zheng, from London, and Rob Hassan, from Birchington, both left items behind. Mr Hassan reported that two cars in the hotel's underground car park, intended for a charity drive, were destroyed. Ms Zheng said she had spent around £500 replacing essential items and is awaiting news about her digital piano, among other possessions.
