Kenan "Ken" Urker, the on-and-off partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, was found dead inside his Louisiana home on Thursday, his 34th birthday. Authorities described his death as an apparent drug overdose.
The Lafourche parish sheriff’s office in Louisiana confirmed that Urker was discovered after relatives requested a welfare check at his residence. A sheriff’s office report stated that Urker was found unresponsive and cold to the touch, with paraphernalia including syringes and a brown powdery substance located in the bathroom, and a syringe and handgun on a nightstand.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 32, told People on Friday that she believed Urker died from an overdose, though she did not know if it was deliberate, adding that he "was not in a good state of mind lately."
Brennan Matherne, a Lafourche parish sheriff’s captain, stated on Friday that Urker’s death remains "under investigation" and that investigators had not discovered "any signs of foul play."
