Police bodycam footage showing the arrest of Luigi Mangione in connection with the shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan has been released. The videos, unsealed by a Manhattan judge on Friday, show officers locating and arresting Mangione at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 9 December 2024.
During the arrest, officers asked Mangione to lower a face mask he was wearing. An officer was later seen searching Mangione's belongings and pulling out a gun cartridge.
Mangione pleaded guilty to federal stalking charges in August and is scheduled for sentencing in December, where he faces life in prison. He also faces murder charges in New York state court, though these proceedings have been postponed.
