Manchester City face the prospect of being without star striker Erling Haaland for Tuesday's Champions League game against AEK Athens. The Norway international, who scored twice in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town, suffered a blow to the foot in that match.
Manager Enzo Maresca stated that Haaland "can be available" and will be assessed after Monday's training session, adding that he was "quite good" on Sunday. Should Haaland not recover, it would present a dilemma for Maresca, especially with Antoine Semenyo ruled out for eight weeks due to a left knee injury sustained against Ipswich.
Semenyo's injury means he could miss up to 13 matches. Maresca has previously suggested Phil Foden could play as a 'nine', and also mentioned summer signing Iliman Ndiaye as another potential option. Rayan Cherki has also been used in a false nine role in the past.
