Manchester City's Erling Haaland is setting his sights on a record-equalling fourth Premier League Golden Boot this season. The Norwegian striker has already claimed the award in three of his four campaigns in English football, scoring a record 36 goals in 2022-23 and 27 in each of the subsequent two seasons.
With four-time winner Mohamed Salah having departed Liverpool, the path to the top scorer award may appear more open for Haaland. However, several contenders are poised to challenge him for the coveted prize.
Liverpool's Alexander Isak, despite an injury-hit last season, finished second in the 2024-25 Golden Boot race with 23 goals, outscoring Haaland. Brentford's Igor Thiago also impressed, netting 22 Premier League goals in his first full season in England, finishing second only to Haaland.
Other players who could be in the mix include Chelsea's Joao Pedro, Arsenal's Viktor Gyokeres, Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, and Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko. Historically, the Golden Boot has often been won by strikers, with recent seasons seeing a higher goal tally required to secure the award.
