Hampshire Trust Bank has completed a £9.8 million portfolio refinance for a landlord in the North West. The transaction involved 40 properties, replacing existing debt and releasing capital for the landlord to pursue further acquisitions.
The specialist bank provided two facilities, totalling £7.7 million and £2.1 million, across separate borrowing entities. The portfolio comprises a mix of buy-to-let, semi-commercial, and commercial assets, with the majority located in Bolton and Manchester, and other properties in Northwich and Cheadle.
This deal reflects a trend where specialist lenders are increasingly supporting professional landlords with complex portfolios, particularly as UK mortgage lending faces challenges. The bank assessed the facilities together due to the multi-entity structure and diverse asset types.
Andrea Glasgow, sales director at Hampshire Trust Bank, noted that refinancing allows established landlords to review their funding structure and support future investment plans, beyond just replacing existing debt.
