Hargreaves Lansdown offers up to £40,000 cashback for existing customers

Hargreaves Lansdown has launched a cashback offer for existing customers, potentially worth up to £40,000, which is the highest amount the company has ever offered.

  • The offer is available to existing Hargreaves Lansdown customers aged 18 or over who contribute or transfer £10,000 or more.
  • The cashback offer runs from 1 October to 30 November 2026.
  • To receive the maximum £40,000, customers would need to invest £1 million into each of four different account types.

Hargreaves Lansdown has announced a cashback offer of up to £40,000 for existing customers, marking the largest amount it has ever offered. The promotion is open to account holders aged 18 or over with at least 1p in their account, provided they are opted into marketing communications.

To qualify, customers must contribute or transfer £10,000 or more into their accounts between 1 October and 30 November 2026. Registration for the offer is required via an online form, helpline, or secure messaging service. The cashback will be paid into a Hargreaves Lansdown Active Savings account within 30 days of 30 September 2027.

The maximum £40,000 cashback is achievable by investing £1 million into each of four different account types, such as a stocks and shares ISA, fund and share account, SIPP, and SIPP income drawdown. However, the evidence suggests that few investors will have the £4 million required to access this top rate.

Withdrawals from Hargreaves Lansdown accounts before 30 September 2027 will affect the cashback calculation, potentially making customers ineligible if their remaining contribution falls below the £10,000 minimum. Increases in account value from investments do not count towards the contribution amount for the offer.

What this means for you: If you are an existing Hargreaves Lansdown customer, you may be eligible for this cashback offer by contributing or transferring £10,000 or more into your account by 30 November 2026. Consider how ongoing fees might affect the overall benefit of the cashback.
