England captain Harry Brook led his side to an overwhelming 119-run victory against Sri Lanka in the first T20 International. Brook, 27, scored an unbeaten 114 runs off 49 balls, marking his second T20 century and making him the third Englishman to achieve more than one.
Brook reached triple figures off 42 balls, dispatching a third of them to the boundary, including six sixes. His performance contributed to England's 19th win in 22 games since he took over the captaincy.
In the bowling attack, Sonny Baker claimed three wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs. Sri Lanka's task became challenging early, having scored 32 for three wickets after six overs, compared to England's 90 for one at the same stage.
This match was the ninth meeting between the senior men's teams of England and Sri Lanka this year, with at least five more encounters scheduled before the end of next month, including two more T20s and three ODIs.
