Bayern Munich's prolific striker and England captain, Harry Kane, has been named the 2026 player of the year in Germany. The award, voted on by an association of sports journalists, saw Kane finish ahead of his teammate Michael Olise.
The 33-year-old's stellar season included winning the Bundesliga and German Cup with Bayern, who also reached the Champions League semi-finals. Kane netted an impressive 61 goals for the club across all competitions last season. He also scored six goals as England reached the World Cup semi-finals.
Bayern's success extended further, with Vincent Kompany named coach of the year and women's captain Giulia Gwinn winning the award for best female player. Kane's achievement marks him as the first Englishman to claim the German Player of the Year title.
