Lando Norris and McLaren secured a strategic victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, triumphing over Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli. The race began with significant disruption as Max Verstappen crashed his Red Bull at high speed on a damp track during the first lap, resulting in a red flag.
Antonelli initially took the lead from Norris after the restart. However, Norris utilised two pit stops to build a tyre advantage, allowing him to fight back and ultimately pass Antonelli for the win. Lewis Hamilton briefly led the race but Norris overtook him on the same lap to take the lead on track.
A late virtual safety car prompted team orders at Mercedes, with George Russell instructed to let Antonelli pass into second place. Russell, aided by a further late virtual safety car, managed to hold off Hamilton to claim the final podium position. Further back, Fernando Alonso earned Aston Martin-Honda their first points since the Monaco race, finishing ninth.
