Enzo Maresca has celebrated his inaugural Premier League victory as Manchester City manager, overseeing a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium. The decisive goal came in stoppage time from Josko Gvardiol, which was initially disallowed for offside but later confirmed by VAR.
Bournemouth had taken the lead in the first half through Marcus Tavernier. However, City mounted a late fightback, with Marc Guehi heading in an equaliser in the 84th minute. Gvardiol then sealed the victory, slotting home from a Rayan Cherki pass.
The match marked Maresca's first home game since taking over from Pep Guardiola. Despite creating numerous chances, including opportunities for Erling Haaland and Guehi, City found themselves trailing until the late turnaround.
