Tricia Penrose, known for her role as barmaid Gina Ward in the ITV drama Heartbeat, has announced she is now a co-owner of The Goathland Hotel. The North York Moors pub famously appeared in multiple series of the show as the Aidensfield Arms.
Penrose confirmed the news in an Instagram post, stating she had joined two local businessmen in the purchase. Heartbeat, which ran from 1992 to 2010, was set in a fictional 1960s Yorkshire village and attracted millions of viewers.
The Goathland Hotel had been run by the Richardson family for over 40 years. Penrose expressed her hope to keep customers updated on hotel activities via a new YouTube channel and plans to visit the pub to meet supporters.
