Henry Pollock has ended his contract stand-off with Northampton, signing an extension with the defending Prem champions. The 21-year-old stated it was "a very easy decision" to remain with the club, where he has played his entire career.
While some sources value his new contract at £400,000 a year, others involved in the deal suggest the figure is higher. This places his pay significantly above the league's average annual salary of £191,000, and also above the average for players in his age bracket (£106,000) and with his level of international experience (£224,000), according to 2024-25 league payroll data.
Pollock's advisor, Eddie Hearn, had reportedly valued him as a "seven-figure player" during negotiations. However, this valuation was considered unlikely to be met due to the league's £6.4m squad salary cap and rules concerning player transfers.
Pollock, who made his league debut for Northampton in November 2023, expressed happiness that the speculation surrounding his future over the past seven weeks is now concluded, allowing him to focus on rugby.
