From 28 August 2026, HM Land Registry will include Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) and INSPIRE IDs in separate lookup tables alongside its monthly Price Paid Data dataset. This change is in response to customer demand for these identifiers to be integrated with the Price Paid Data, which details residential property sales in England and Wales.
The inclusion of UPRNs and INSPIRE IDs is expected to facilitate easier connection of sale price information with other property and location datasets. Lynne Nicholson, Deputy Director for Data at HM Land Registry, stated that this initiative is part of a strategic plan to unlock the value of their data for innovation and growth.
Nick Chapallaz, Managing Director at GeoPlace, noted that extending the use of UPRNs to Price Paid Data is a natural progression, providing a consistent reference point across the property sector. This is intended to enable property data from various sources to be linked, analysed, and mapped, potentially opening new opportunities for insight across the property market.
