Holborn and St Pancras by-election voting under way

Voters in the north London constituency of Holborn and St Pancras are casting their ballots today in a by-election to choose a new MP.

Voting is under way in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election today, with candidates competing to become the constituency's new Member of Parliament. Polling stations across the north London seat, located in churches and community centres, opened at 07:00 BST and are scheduled to close at 22:00 BST.

The by-election was called after former prime minister Sir Keir Starmer announced his resignation from the seat to concentrate on a role in international affairs. There are 15 candidates standing in the election, one of whom is an independent.

Voters are required to present an acceptable form of identification, such as a driving licence or passport, to cast their vote.
