House prices in the UK remained steady in September, with no monthly growth recorded by the Lloyds House Price Index. This follows a 0.3% decline in August.
The average property price currently stands at £298,441, a slight increase from £298,395 in August. Andrew Asaam, mortgages director at Lloyds, noted that property prices have been resilient despite ongoing market uncertainty and higher mortgage rates.
Regionally, Northern Ireland continues to lead with annual house price growth of +7.4%, reaching an average property value of £231,917. Scotland also showed solid growth at +3.4% annually, with an average price of £223,330, and Wales saw growth of +1.2% to £231,287.
In England, the North East and North West recorded the strongest annual growth at +2.4% and +1.9% respectively. However, southern England, including Greater London (-2.2%), the South East (-2.1%), and Eastern England (-1.6%), experienced annual declines.
