Social housing landlord GreenSquareAccord Limited (GSA) has been downgraded by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) today, 7 October 2026. The organisation, which manages around 25,500 social homes across the West Midlands, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, received G3 and V3 ratings.
The downgrade follows an investigation by the RSH into serious weaknesses in GSA's financial governance, risk management, quality of information, and internal controls. The RSH found insufficient evidence that GSA's commissioned reviews and improvement programmes had led to sustainable improvement.
RSH Chief Executive Jonathan Walters stated that the investigation found "a continued failure to address previously identified weaknesses in governance," which he described as "unacceptable." He added that these concerns have undermined assurance in the organisation’s financial resilience and long-term viability.
GSA was placed on RSH’s gradings under review list in May 2026 for investigation into its compliance with the Governance and Financial Viability Standard. The RSH has now concluded that GSA does not meet the requirements of these standards.
