Newly promoted Hull City have made a strong start to their Premier League campaign, securing seven points from their first three matches. This includes three clean sheets, leaving them just two points behind early pacesetters Manchester City.

Head coach Sergej Jakirovic, who signed a two-year contract extension on Friday, guided Hull to a play-off win last season after avoiding relegation to League One on goal difference the year before. Hull were the busiest Premier League side in the summer, making 18 new signings for approximately £150m, with six arriving on deadline day.

Defender John Egan stated that the start is important for confidence, following wins against Manchester United and Coventry City, and a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa. Jakirovic has set a goal for the team to collect around 38-40 points to secure their top-flight status.
