York Knights celebrated a memorable night in the south of France, securing their first-ever victory against Catalans Dragons in Perpignan with a 28-16 win. The Knights ran in five tries to overcome the Dragons at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.
Despite an early scare with Catalans' Leo Darrelatour scoring two tries to give the Dragons a 10-0 lead, York fought back. Oli Field and David Noafoaluma crossed the try line, with Cody Hunter converting both to give York a 10-12 lead. Darrelatour completed his hat-trick just before half-time, putting Catalans ahead 16-12.
However, the Knights dominated the second half, preventing Catalans from scoring any further points. Liam Harris, Scott Galeano, and Paul Vaughan all scored tries, with Hunter adding conversions, to seal an impressive win. This result marks York's eighth league win of the season and moves them up to 10th in the Super League standings.
