  • CCTV footage reportedly shows an individual cutting down the bras and taking them away.

Hundreds of bras have reportedly gone missing from a charity display in West Yorkshire, according to organisers. The Pontefract and District Cancer Support Group had hung the bras across the town to encourage people to check for signs of breast cancer.

Organiser Rachel Brown stated that around 500 bras disappeared from railings around Valley Gardens and Ropergate. She said an alleged culprit was seen on CCTV cutting down the bras and taking them away, with their identity currently unknown.

Ms Brown, who founded the support group after her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2014, expressed her desire for the person responsible to come forward. The group discovered the bras were missing on Wednesday morning, with footage reportedly showing a person taking them down with scissors just after midnight.

Despite the setback, Ms Brown indicated that the group plans to put up more bras. She also noted that the incident had raised more awareness for their cause.
