Fifa president Gianni Infantino has denied claims that Uefa made a severance payment to an alleged lover while he was its general secretary, according to a Daily Telegraph investigation.
A spokesman for Mr Infantino was reported to have told the paper that the Fifa president "strongly denies these categorically untrue allegations".
Uefa, where Mr Infantino was general secretary from 2009 to 2016, confirmed that "a departure payment was made to the individual in question". The organisation added that the payment covered fees for her to complete an MBA course at a local business school and was in line with regulations at the time.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Uefa paid a six-figure sum to the woman, who allegedly had a relationship with Mr Infantino during his time at European football's governing body.
A Fifa spokesman told the Telegraph: "No employee at Uefa and Fifa has ever raised a complaint regarding Mr Infantino's behaviour because there never was an incident where he was involved."
