  • Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola secured a victory against his former club Bournemouth.
  • Bournemouth are still searching for their first Premier League win of the campaign.

Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth today, with Alexander Isak's second-half strike proving decisive. The win marked a successful return to the Vitality Stadium for Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola, who previously spent three seasons with the Cherries.

Isak, the Sweden international, broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, netting his fourth goal of the season after Cody Gakpo's build-up play. This goal means Isak has already surpassed his Premier League goal tally from his entire previous top-flight campaign within the first five league matches.

Iraola, who led Bournemouth to a European berth last season, was warmly received by his former club, exchanging a hug with his successor, Marco Rose, before kick-off. Bournemouth, who had beaten Real Sociedad on Thursday, were forced into one change due to Justin Kluivert picking up a knock.

Despite a closely-fought contest with limited chances for both sides, Liverpool's determination paid off. Bournemouth remains in search of their first Premier League win of the current campaign.
