Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected US President Donald Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza. Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Mr Netanyahu stated that no military pull-out will occur until Hamas is "genuinely" disarmed.

Trump's Board of Peace had announced last month an agreement for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. However, Hamas had indicated that the handover of its heavy weapons was conditional on Israel ending "all forms of aggression" and withdrawing its forces from the territory.

Mr Netanyahu said that Hamas must disarm before Israel withdraws its forces, adding it could not be some "fictitious disarmament." He confirmed he is now in discussions with US officials regarding the path forward.
