James McAvoy claims Band of Brothers co-star bullied him on first day of filming

Actor James McAvoy has claimed that a co-star on the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers bullied him on his first day of filming, his first professional acting job.

  • James McAvoy stated a Band of Brothers co-star bullied him on his first day of filming.
  • McAvoy said the co-star and his friends pointed and laughed at him for approximately three minutes.
  • The actor attributed the bullying to other cast members being 'pissed' that he had many lines in his episode, while they had few.

Scottish actor James McAvoy has claimed he was bullied by a co-star on the set of the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, his first acting job after leaving school. McAvoy recalled the experience during a chat show segment after being shown a photo of himself with other cast members.

McAvoy stated that the co-star, whose identity he did not reveal, along with his friends, stood and pointed and laughed at him for around three minutes. He suggested that other cast members, who had been filming for nearly a year with minimal screen time, were upset that he arrived for one episode with an 'arc and scenes' and 'tons of lines'.

McAvoy confirmed the actor was not David Schwimmer, who was not in the photo shown. Following the incident, Dexter Fletcher and Robin Laing reportedly invited McAvoy to 'hang with us'. The Independent has contacted the co-stars featured in the photo for comment.
