Noah Kahan's new single, "Draw You Out," has claimed the top spot on Billboard's Rock Streaming Chart. This marks the end of The Killers' historic run with "Mr Brightside," which held the position for 368 weeks, equivalent to over seven years.
"Mr Brightside," first released in 2004, is notable for being the longest-running track on the British charts never to reach number one. Critic Mark Beaumont explored the song's enduring popularity in a feature for The Independent around its 20th anniversary.
Kahan's chart-topping track, "Draw You Out," was created specifically for the film The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and is featured on its upcoming soundtrack album. The song was co-written and co-produced by Aaron Dessner of The National.
Earlier this year, Kahan publicly objected to the White House's unauthorised use of his song "American Cars" in an Instagram post featuring President Donald Trump. Kahan stated he would "never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration."
