Jamie Campbell Bower dismisses 'Conformity Gate' theory about Stranger Things finale

Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower has rejected a fan theory suggesting a secret ninth episode of the Netflix series, six months after its conclusion.

  • Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna, denied the 'Conformity Gate' theory at San Diego Comic-Con.
  • The theory suggested the show's ending, which left Eleven's fate ambiguous, was an illusion by Vecna.
  • Millie Bobby Brown previously stated that only three people know Eleven's true fate after the finale.

Jamie Campbell Bower, known for his role as Vecna in Netflix's Stranger Things, has dismissed the 'Conformity Gate' fan theory, which speculated about a secret extra episode of the show. The theory emerged after the series concluded on New Year's Eve last year, with many viewers believing the ambiguous fate of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) was an illusion created by Vecna.

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Bower called the idea of a ninth episode "pretty crazy." He stated, "If there is, I’m not in it! I shot what I shot, I’m done." He also noted that he still receives questions about the potential episode, despite it being six months since the finale.

Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, previously revealed that only three individuals know her character's true fate following the finale. She recounted texting creators The Duffer Brothers, who told her, "Do not tell anyone. Because we made it a secret kind of pledge."
