Jared Leto has denied a series of allegations of sexual misconduct made by four women in a new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. The film includes accusations of sexual assault, statutory rape, grooming, and threats of sexual assault.

The women involved stated they encountered the 54-year-old actor and musician between 2002 and 2016. At the time, they were aged between 16 and 18, while Leto was in his 30s and 40s.

In a statement to The Independent, Leto said: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

One woman, using the pseudonym Isabel, alleged sexual assault in a Las Vegas motel bathroom in 2002 when she was 17. Another, identified as Alex, alleged Leto threatened her with sexual assault in London in 2013 after a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert. A third woman, Clara, alleged she had sex with Leto at his California home in 2006 when she was 17, claiming he dismissed discussions about California's age of consent. A fourth woman, Etta, alleged grooming by Leto after meeting him in Los Angeles in 2014 when she was 16, followed by sexually explicit phone calls.

The documentary also features accounts from five other women who alleged receiving sexually explicit phone calls from Leto when they were younger, with four stating they were teenagers. Two former Thirty Seconds to Mars crew members also expressed discomfort with Leto's interactions with teenage girls backstage and at recording locations.

In 2025, an investigation by Air Mail reportedly revealed nine women had accused Leto of sexual impropriety, with several alleging they were under the age of consent. Leto denied any wrongdoing at that time through a representative.
