Jeremy Clarkson's partner, Lisa Hogan, has stated that his decision to publicly share his prostate cancer diagnosis has aided thousands of people. Ms Hogan noted that when the show featuring his diagnosis was released, Prostate Cancer UK saw 30,000 visits to their website in a single day.
The 66-year-old broadcaster is now in remission after revealing his diagnosis of "aggressive" prostate cancer on the latest series of 'Clarkson's Farm'. He underwent high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), a minimally invasive procedure, for treatment.
Ms Hogan, his partner of nine years, explained that Clarkson was initially reluctant to disclose his diagnosis to viewers. She told the Daily Star Sunday that producer Andy Wilman convinced him to do so to help others. She also mentioned that talking to friends who had similar experiences provided emotional support.
Clarkson announced his remission in June and previously urged the public to get checked, stating, "It's not uncomfortable, it's not undignified, and it's a no-brainer."
