Dame Tracey Emin has paid tribute to her elder brother, Alan, who died last week. The artist shared the news on Instagram, stating she was expecting his death but not expecting it.
Emin also revealed she spent eight days in hospital recently, suffering from borderline sepsis and an acute attack of diverticulitis. She described experiencing weeks of recurring infections, which have left her feeling weak.
The 63-year-old artist was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer in 2020. She received a four-year all-clear for cancer in June 2024, the same year she was made a dame for services to British art.
