Jeremy Renner has confirmed he will not be appearing in the upcoming Marvel film, Avengers: Doomsday. The actor, who portrays Clint Barton/Hawkeye, joked that the Avengers are "gonna lose" because he was not called for the film.
Renner has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Hawkeye since 2011, first appearing in Thor. He has since reprised the role in several films, including The Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), and voiced the character in Black Widow (2021). He also starred in the Disney+ series Hawkeye (2021).
Speaking at Comic Con Liverpool, Renner stated, "Doomsday, I’m not in, so the Avengers will probably lose, just so you know." He added, laughing, "They didn’t call me, so it’s their fault they’re gonna lose."
Avengers: Doomsday is anticipated to be a major crossover event, bringing together heroes from three universes to face Doctor Doom. The film is set to include original X-Men stars such as Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto, alongside characters from the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and the Wakandans.
The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 16 December 2026.
