Luke Littler's pursuit of a historic clean sweep in major televised darts tournaments has concluded following a 10-4 loss to Jonny Clayton in the World Series of Darts Finals quarter-finals.
The 19-year-old had aimed to become the first player to win all 10 major televised tournaments in a calendar year, having already secured victories in the first five. His journey in Amsterdam saw him edge past Nathan Aspinall 10-9 on Saturday before facing Clayton.
Clayton levelled the match at 3-3 with a 136 checkout and then took control, ultimately sealing his win with a 40 checkout. He is now set to face Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals on Sunday evening.
Price secured his semi-final spot with a 10-7 victory over James Wade, achieving an average of 103.86. The other semi-final will feature Ross Smith, who beat Josh Rock 10-7, against Gian van Veen, who overcame Dirk van Duijvenbode 10-8.
