A judge has told the deadlocked jury in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial to continue deliberations, following a dramatic sixth day of proceedings. The judge denied a request from the defence team to remove a juror.
Tensions reportedly rose in court after the jury forewoman sent a note to the judge, stating that one juror would not follow the judge's instructions regarding reasonable doubt. The defence lawyer, Kevin Reddington, subsequently requested the juror's removal.
Ms Clancy, 36, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her three children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at her Massachusetts home on 24 January 2023. Her lawyer argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time.
The jury of nine women and three men has deliberated for around 35 hours without a verdict. The panel had previously sent notes indicating an inability to reach a unanimous decision.
