Daniel Billings reportedly told a woman he had met on Tinder, "I'm sorry I murdered her," two hours after he murdered his ex-girlfriend Molly Ticehurst in April 2024. The woman told police that Billings described the murder during their brief conversation, stating, "I did what I did."

Billings, a former mine worker, has pleaded guilty to stabbing Molly Ticehurst 15 times after breaking into her Forbes home. The 31-year-old is facing a two-day sentencing hearing in Orange, which was expected to conclude on Friday.

The court heard that Billings was released on bail by a local court registrar two weeks before the murder. He had been charged with sexual assault and domestic violence offences against Ms Ticehurst. Justice Natalie Adams has indicated she would sentence Billings later in September.
