Kai Trump, granddaughter of President Donald Trump, announced on social media on Wednesday that she has undergone surgery on her left wrist. The injury occurred during her first tournament of the season with the University of Miami golf team.
Ms Trump stated that after discussions with her family, coaches, and athletic training staff, she decided surgery was the best decision for her long-term health and future in golf. She described the operation as a setback for her season with the Hurricanes.
A freshman, Ms Trump is one of nine players on Miami's roster. The team has had a strong start to the season, winning two of their three events and finishing runner-up in another, placing them at No. 7 in national rankings.
