Kate Cross Announces Retirement from Professional Cricket

Lancashire and England cricketer Kate Cross has announced her retirement from professional cricket, effective at the end of the current season.

Veteran cricketer Kate Cross has announced her retirement from professional cricket at the end of the current season. Cross made her debut for Lancashire as a 13-year-old in 2005 and became the first woman to join Lancashire’s Academy a year later.

Cross has amassed 239 wickets for all Lancashire teams and 140 for England since her international debut in October 2013. She described winning two trophies with Lancashire in 2025 as a particularly special highlight of her career.

While calling the decision to retire difficult, Cross stated it felt like the right time. She hopes to remain involved in cricket and looks forward to finishing the season with Lancashire as they pursue more silverware.
