A dramatic rescue operation has been completed off the coast of Northumberland, with a dog named Bruce safely recovered from his kayak after being blown out to sea.
The incident occurred near the Farne Islands, a popular spot for kayakers and birdwatchers. Bruce's owner reported that he had become detached from his kayak during strong winds, and a search and rescue operation was launched by local coastguards.
A Coastguard spokesman said: 'We were alerted to the situation at around 10 am on Thursday morning. We deployed a team of experienced rescuers who worked tirelessly to locate Bruce and bring him to safety.'
Fortunately, Bruce was found unharmed and reunited with his owner. The incident serves as a reminder for all water users to exercise caution during strong winds.
