Kazuyoshi Miura, 59, Extends Oldest Professional Goalscorer Record

Kazuyoshi Miura, known as 'King Kazu', scored his first competitive goal in nearly four years on Saturday, 25 July 2026. Playing for Fukushima United, Miura was on target in their 7-0 victory over Iwaki Furukawa in the Emperor’s Cup.

At 59 years and 149 days old, Miura's goal extends his record as the oldest goalscorer in professional football. The Guardian notes that Ezzeldin Bahader holds the record for the oldest goalscorer overall, having scored a penalty at 74 years and 125 days old in the Egyptian Third Division in March 2020.
