Ken Kesey’s 'Furthur' bus, known for its journey across America, has arrived in San Francisco. It will serve as the main attraction for an exhibition honouring the Grateful Dead and the city's historic counterculture.
The exhibition, named "Forever Grateful/Golden Gate Park," is scheduled to open on Saturday. It will also include the first public display of Jerry Garcia’s BMW.
Organised by the Haight Street Art Center, the exhibit aims to immerse visitors in the visual, auditory, and cultural atmosphere of 1960s San Francisco. The event also supports efforts to restore the 'Furthur' bus, which was last publicly displayed at Woodstock in 1969.
The exhibition will be open through 25 October.
